Sing for a Cure is raising money for the JDRF
16 August 2022
Retired Sussex police officer Matt Cowling is raising money for JDRF, the type 1 diabetes charity, with his concert ‘Sing for a Cure’.
Matt's youngest son Ben was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was just 7 yrs old and was in the Royal Alexandra Hospital for just over a week being stabilised.
Matt started Sing for a Cure as a one-off concert to support JDRF as their focus is finding a Cure for Type 1 as well helping manage the condition. However, after receiving such overwhelming feedback, this year marks the 5th concert!
Each one has been themed and this year the theme is 'You Raise Me Up!'. The first act is a whistle stop tour of popular west end shows and the second act is designed to be like you are at a party afterwards!
The event is a family friendly, all live music event and is guaranteed that anyone who comes will have a brilliant afternoon or night out!
Sing for a Cure will this year be held at The Chequer Mead Theatre, East Grinstead with two shows - 2pm and 7pm.
And as a footnote, Ben is now approaching his 22nd birthday and realising his ambition of being a musician and...is playing bass in the band!
