Remembering fallen officers at the UK Police Memorial

29 July 2022

Yesterday (Thursday 28th July) marked the first Anniversary of the Dedication of the UK Police Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
Sussex Police Federation Chair, Daren Egan, and Secretary, Andy Standing, joined Assistant Chief Constable Tanya Jones and Veronica Tooley to remember all officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the line of duty.
Jeffery Tooley, Veronica’s son, was tragically killed in 1999, when he was struck by a speeding van which failed to stop.
Daren said "I knew Jeff from working alongside him at Brighton in the late 90’s, so it’s personally a huge honour to join his Mum Veronica to remember Jeff, and all our other brave colleagues who gave their lives to protect the public."
