Police Care UK
Police Care UK makes sure both serving and former colleagues who suffer harm, and their families, have someone to turn to when things get tough.
We provide practical, emotional and financial support that is confidential, independent and accessible.
The Police Charities UK group is a consortium of charities working in the policing environment.
The Police Children's Charity North Yorkshire
We try and help ease the financial pressures of bringing up children in the face of life-changing circumstances. These circumstances could involve the death of the Police Donor Parent or their partner, or where the Police Donor takes early medical retirement. This applies to both on and off duty incidents or issues.
The Charity also provides financial assistance to support the mental health and wellbeing of the children of Serving Police Donors.
Financial support is provided to eligible children and young people by the Charity throughout their school years and in many cases, into further education. Around 300 children are supported every year.
Support is of a financial nature and may range from a weekly allowance for each child in the family, support through further and higher education, driving lesson grants, support for child counselling and ex-gratia grants for necessary activities or items.
While no amount of money can replace a Parent, support from the Charity can provide a degree of financial certainty in difficult times.
We now also offer a one week’s free respite stay each year at our holiday home in Harrogate for all Beneficiaries and/or subsequent visits at discounted rates. Our holiday home aims to provide an opportunity for families to come together and escape the stresses they might be facing at home.

The Police Treatment Centre
The Police Treatment Centres is a registered charity which provides treatment and support, including intensive, police-specific, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, for injured and ill police officers and retired officers.
Police officers are very often the first responders to serious accidents and dangerous incidents, dealing with death, distress and aggression. They have to see and hear things that other members of the public would simply not be able to cope with (- Martis Media/Police Oracle). The Police Treatment Centres provide police specific treatment for any on or off duty injury. Whether it is a physical injury, or stress, depression, anxiety related, treatment is provided to help them recover and aid their return back to work.
Almost 4000 serving and retired officers attend one of the two Treatment Centres each year at either St Andrews, in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, or Castlebrae in Auchterarder, Perthshire.
For just a small donation you could have the comfort of knowing we will be there for you if you are injured or ill, through treatment, support & recuperation, including intensive, police-specific, physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Don’t forget, it doesn’t matter if your injury occurs on or off duty – it could have occurred playing football or even walking the dog.
Around 60% of the Police Family members within our service area contribute to the PTC and so are eligible for free treatment.
If you are in the minority who don’t, take a fresh look at the PTCs and see how you too could benefit from what we can offer.
