North Yorkshire Police Federation will today pause to remember PC Rosie Prior on the first anniversary of her death.
Rosie, a mother of two and a serving officer with North Yorkshire Police, died after being hit by a lorry on the A19 at Bagby on 11 January 2025.
Branch chair Rob Bowles paid tribute to Rosie, describing her as ‘the very best of us’.
Rob said: “Rosie was a much-loved and well-respected member of the policing family.

“Her tragic death sent shockwaves through our Force and continues to be felt today.
“It is a clear reminder of how officers put themselves at risk every day to try to help others.
“Rosie was the very best of us and was acting in the finest traditions of British policing.
“Today we pause to remember her, and our heartfelt thoughts are with her family, friends, and colleagues.”
A wreath-laying service in memory of Rosie was held on Saturday at Force HQ with her family and former colleagues.
