Make your voice heard in the Pay and Morale Survey

The annual Pay and Morale Survey is now open giving North Yorkshire Police Federation members the chance to have their say on pay, wellbeing and the challenges of policing.

It provides invaluable insight into the experiences of rank-and-file officers and helps build the evidence base that the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) uses to campaign on issues including pay, working conditions, wellbeing and retention.

This year's survey comes just days after the announcement of the 2026 police pay award, which North Yorkshire Police Federation criticised as failing to recognise the realities of frontline policing.

The survey will provide members with an opportunity to make their views on the pay award heard, as well as to highlight the wider issues in policing.

Influence

Branch chair Rob Bowles said: "The Pay and Morale Survey is one of the most important opportunities our members have to influence the work of PFEW.

"Every response helps build a clearer picture of what officers are experiencing, from the impact of this year's pay award to workloads, wellbeing and the wider pressures of policing.

"We were clear in our response to the pay award that it failed to reflect the realities of modern policing, now we need members to tell us directly how they feel.

“The stronger the response from North Yorkshire, the stronger the evidence we have to challenge decision-makers and fight for change.”
