Pay and conditions, wellbeing, and the growing pressures on frontline policing will be on the agenda at the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) annual conference.
The conference is being streamed live on 18 and 19 November and North Yorkshire Police Federation members are encouraged to tune in, if they can.
It will bring together senior leaders, policing specialists and national stakeholders to debate some of the pressing challenges facing officers.
The programme includes panel discussions, presentations and Q&A sessions covering everything from workforce support to the ongoing #SimplifyDG6 campaign.
North Yorkshire Police Federation chair Rob Bowles said: “Our annual conference offers an important chance to stay informed on national conversations that directly affect members.
“Key issues will be discussed including pay and conditions, mental health and wellbeing, and the wider pressures of policing.
“Conference allows colleagues to hear from the people influencing these areas and shaping the future of policing, and I’d encourage members to join online, if they can, or catch up afterwards.”
Hosted by broadcaster Ian Collins, the conference, is supported by Slater and Gordon.
It opens at 1pm on 18 November with a welcome from national chair Tiff Lynch.
Day one features discussions on pay and conditions, support for officers’ families, and a keynote address and Q&A with PFEW chief executive Mukund Krishna. The day also includes presentations for the Outstanding Contribution to Women in Policing Award and Detective of the Year.
Day two begins at 9.20am on 19 November, including a further keynote speech from Tiff Lynch, a panel on policing’s suicide crisis, an update on the #SimplifyDG6 campaign and a live panel Q&A. Awards for Investigation of the Year and Response Officer of the Year will also be presented.
The in-person conference is open only to elected delegates, who have been formally chosen to represent their branches.
The event will be live-streamed via the PFEW YouTube channel and reps and members are encouraged to watch it live or on catch up.
