Chair Rob Bowles says he was ‘honoured’ to lay a wreath on behalf of North Yorkshire Police Federation at the Force’s Armistice Day service.
Rob joined North Yorkshire Police colleagues and local dignitaries in paying their respects to those who have died in conflict during a service at Force headquarters in Northallerton.
He said: “It was an honour to represent North Yorkshire Police Federation and our members, and to lay a wreath on their behalf.
“It’s so important that we remember the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in conflict and that we show our respects.

“It means a lot to the country, and to the many people who have their own family stories of sacrifice.
“And we have a lot of people who served in the forces who become police officers, and it means a lot to them as well.”
The service included a wreath-laying ceremony and a two-minute silence at 11am.
Chief Constable Tim Forber laid a wreath on behalf of the Force at the service, along with Deputy Chief Constable Scott Bisset, Chief Fire Officer Jonathon Dyson, the Mayor of North Yorkshire David Skaith, Deputy Mayor Jo Coles, and other representatives.
Officers and staff paid their respects at the Force’s stations across North Yorkshire.
