Federation members are being encouraged to make use of a new wellbeing app, developed specifically for policing professionals.
North Wales Police is one of the few forces piloting ‘Reset U’, an app created by emergency service workers for emergency service workers.
It provides officers, staff and volunteers with practical, easy-to-use tools to help manage the unique demands of policing, buy focussing on three key areas: sleep, fatigue and recovery.
The app is currently being trialled on smartphones across eight forces in England and Wales, with access provided via organisation-specific download codes.
A key feature of the app is its AI-powered wellbeing coach, NAIthan, which offers personalised support to improve users’ physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, with tailored guidance for both work and home life.
Reset U also includes a variety of resources to support users before, during and after shifts, as well as access to moderated policing wellbeing communities and trusted external support services.
The platform is endorsed by Oscar Kilo, the National Police Wellbeing Service, and has been developed in response to national research highlighting high levels of fatigue, burnout and stress across policing, which can impact energy levels, decision-making and confidence.
The content has been shaped by input from more than 2,000 officers and staff. Importantly, the app operates independently from police forces, ensuring a fully private user experience.
Branch chair Trystan Bevan has encouraged members to take advantage of the app and its tailored wellbeing resources.
“This is a great opportunity for our members, with North Wales Police officers being among a small number currently able to access the platform. Given the unique pressures of policing, it is vital that you prioritise your wellbeing and make use of targeted support and information,” he said.
“Rest assured, the Force cannot see any individual activity within the app - only anonymous data and trends such as which tools are most commonly used.
“I would strongly encourage everyone to take a few minutes to set it up and explore it, particularly the AI coach. The more information you choose to share, the more tailored and useful the guidance will be.
“This app is a valuable wellbeing resource, so please make sure you take advantage of it.”
Reset U can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play Store, using the specific North Wales Police code. To receive the code, please contact the Federation office or Jennifer Hutchinson, Force wellbeing lead.
