Ben Fund ‘amnesty’: fast-track access to health and wellbeing services

27 March 2026

North Wales Police Federation members can take advantage of a limited-time opportunity to access health and wellbeing support.

The Ben Fund has announced a ‘membership amnesty’ for officers and staff.

It means that new members signing up to the Ben Fund in April and May will be able to bypass the usual 12-month qualifying period and immediately access a wide range of physical, mental, and financial wellbeing services.

An independent charity with more than 50 years of service, the Ben Fund supports the health and wellbeing of police officers across the Forces of the North West region, including North Wales Police.

With more than 18,500 serving and retired officer members, the charity provides access to high-quality treatment and support including:

  • Physiotherapy and injury rehabilitation

  • Counselling and psychological support

  • Alternative therapies to promote health and wellbeing

  • Residential wellbeing breaks

  • Financial wellbeing advice, hardship assistance and grants

From April 2026, the monthly donation rates are:

  • £9.75 per month (before tax relief) for serving officers

  • £7.35 per month (before tax relief) for retired officers

After tax relief, the actual cost is significantly lower. For less than the cost of a cup of coffee each week, members gain access to specialist treatments and support when they need it.
