Battle of the Badges 2026: Fed members encouraged to get involved

14 April 2026

The Battle of the Badges endurance competition is around the corner, and North Wales Police Federation members are being encouraged to join other emergency service workers in challenging themselves for a worthy cause.
Returning for a fourth time, the event will once again present a circuit of physically demanding tasks to participants from police, fire, ambulance, NHS, and military backgrounds as they compete in teams of four to achieve the best completion time.
This takes place over the course of one action-packed day, which this year will be hosted in Norfolk, at Hustle gym in Wymondham on Sunday 17 May.
The competition is open to both serving and retired frontline staff, support staff and volunteers, meaning Federation members and their wider colleagues in the Force can all get involved.
Entry is set at £80 for a team of four and closes on Monday 20 April, with teams encouraged to match this figure in sponsorship to maximise fundraising for a chosen charity.
This year, all profits from Battle of the Badges are set to be donated to The Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC), the UK’s leading provider of vital physical, psychological and financial support to ambulance personnel and their families.
As in previous years, the circuit itself will follow a well-tested and competitive format, featuring the likes of dummy drags, sled pushes and short sprints, as well as biking, rowing and skiing machines.
While physically challenging, each stage is achievable for varying fitness levels, so every entrant can contribute to their team’s overall performance – linking into another key purpose of the competition around boosting morale, wellbeing and relationships between its participating public services.
You enter a team into the 2026 Battle of the Badges by visiting its sign-up page and following instructions, while you can find out more information about this year’s event on the Battle of the Badges Instagram account.
Alongside the competition, a general fundraiser for TASC has been set up, which you can donate to by visiting its JustGiving page.
