Leicestershire Police Federation

A Christmas and New Year message from Leicestershire Police Federation Chair Andy Spence

23 December 2024

On behalf of Leicestershire Police Federation we would like to wish all police officers, staff, volunteers and their families a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

As we look back at 2024 it has been another challenging year for officers with a record level of assaults against police, increasing workloads and the intense scrutiny that we face on a day to day basis.

Your commitment and professionalism in the face of adversity do not go unnoticed.

Tragically we have recently lost a beloved colleague, a brilliant detective, who was simply one of the best. Their loss has been felt by all of us.

It’s important to support each other, especially during these times. Checking in on friends and colleagues can make a significant difference.

Every day you protect the most vulnerable and deal with some of the most traumatic incidents, ensuring that the communities you serve are safer.

We start 2025 with the opportunity for officers to become Federation Representatives; if you would like the opportunity to represent your colleagues then please nominate yourself.

We are really proud to support you, represent you and make your voice heard.
