Kent Police Federation

Message from Chairman Neil Mennie on the police response to the Covid-19 outbreak.

20 March 2020

"Kent Police Officers are an exceptionally talented and dedicated group of people who will continue to carry out their work and demonstrate total professionalism"

Message from Chairman Neil Mennie on the police response to the Covid-19 outbreak.

"We are currently facing an unprecedented national crisis regarding this virus.

"The Federation is fully engaged with the force and we are listening carefully to our members concerns.

"If ever there was an exigency of duty this clearly fits the criteria. Many of you will face long shifts and shift changes at short notice.

"Police Officers and Staff will be on the frontline and as ever placing themselves at risk to help the public and maintain law and order.

"We fully recognise that we will need to be flexible and provide the goodwill that we are renowned for. However, this does need to be reciprocated where possible and the Federation will continue to ask that this is undertaken where possible.

"This update is brief because details are changing all the time.

"If you have any concerns or queries please seek out a local Police Federation Representative or e mail us at kent@kent.polfed.org.

"If you can avoid calling us where possible that would be a great help.

"Kent Police Officers are an exceptionally talented and dedicated group of people who will continue to carry out their work and demonstrate total professionalism.

"Finally, we wish you and your families our very best wishes and may you all stay safe in these uncertain times."
