This email came from a serving officer who just 18 months into their service, received a diagnosis that required them to travel extensively to undertake chemotherapy. The benevolent fund were very happy to help with all the additional costs, incurred as a result of the officers illness, so that they could get on with the job of getting better without having to worry about the financial impact the illness was having.
“Thank you all so much for your kindness and generosity. I cannot explain the difference this has made to me and my family over this period of time. You have all been exceptionally helpful and have made a real difference. If there is anything I can do in the future to help raise the awareness of the Benevolent Fund – please do let me know.
I remember when I joined at KPC, somebody from the fund came in to speak to the new intake about the fund and what it could do to help families and I remember thinking it would never be me who would need to reach out for support – and here I have been doing just that.
If I could support in any way going forward, I would be more than happy to do so.
Please know that you have all made such a difference.”
Best wishes,
( benevolent fund member)
