Hertfordshire Police Federation chair Luke Mitchell is encouraging members to contribute to the future of policing by being part of this year’s annual conference.
The Police Federation of England Wales (PFEW) Annual Conference takes place online on Tuesday (10 October) and Wednesday (11 October).
The two-day event, hosted by Talk TV presenter Ian Collins, will be a mix of live broadcasts and pre-recorded presentations from senior Federation officials as well as experts in policing, Government, and the Home Office.
Luke said: “This year's PFEW conference will centre around the future of policing. Over the course of two days, key topics will be debated through interactive sessions and panel discussions, raising awareness of some of the main challenges faced within the policing community.
“I strongly encourage as many of our members as possible to register for the conference. This is your Federation, and the conference is a chance to contribute to the discussions on issues affecting you and your role, but also to set the priorities for the Federation going forward and to shape the future of policing.”
Day one of the agenda includes discussions on leadership in policing, Home Office review impact on independent panels, and disclosure and redaction, as well as retirement, misogyny, and Mutual Aid.
Industrial rights and wellbeing will be explored on day two when there will be a keynote address from PFEW chair Steve Hartshorn and a Q&A panel session.
The conference will also recognise outstanding contributions to policing through the presentation of awards for excellence in roads policing, detectives, and women in policing.
