Hertfordshire Police Federation

Your magazine is out now

25 August 2020

The latest copy of the magazine for Hertfordshire Police Federation members is out now.

The summer 2020 edition of Federation Matters focuses on policing during the pandemic, with Geoff Bardell, Federation branch chair, acknowledging that this year has been challenging.

Read our interview with Federation representative Sergeant Simon Dring, who returned to the front-line after suffering from COVID-19 symptoms himself but has worked without a break since the end of March.

And Federation vice-chair and workplace rep Sergeant Luke Mitchell tells us he believes a more flexible approach to working after the pandemic could help improve the morale and wellbeing of officers and staff while Federation representative Kio Bozorgi admits he was very nervous about contracting the virus while working on the front-line.

Other news includes a survey highlighting officer fatigue, how cuts to roads policing budgets have led to a gradual increase in road deaths and women officers being asked for feedback on their public order and firearms uniforms.

Printed copies of the magazine are being distributed around the Force.

But you can read the magazine online now.
