A free new guide has been produced to provide tips on how to sleep well at the end of a night shift.
Shift work can be harmful to sleep patterns, but the guide could help members to sleep soundly afterwards.
It explains why working shifts can be harmful to rest patterns and provides advice on how members can put themselves in a position for a good quality sleep when a shift is finished.
The guide has a general focus on sleep, looking at the benefits it brings and providing tips on getting a good night’s sleep.
It also signposts members to other organisations, such as the NHS and the Sleep Apnoea Trust, which can provide more information on sleep issues.
The guide has been produced by Police Mutual, which provides financial services and welfare support to the police service, and is available to download now.
