Coronavirus and the Federation

Hertfordshire Police Federation secretary Al Wollaston has reassured members that the branch is working with the Force as it makes plans for its response to the coronavirus crisis.

The Federation is attending Gold meetings and also assessing its own response.

“At the moment within the office, it is business as usual but we are carefully monitoring developments and we may have to change our approach,” says Al.

“We will be doing everything we can to maintain an effective service for members since they will, of course, be in the front-line, serving and protecting the public and seeking to keep order and protect the vulnerable. We will work with the Force and will offer whatever support we can to our members.

“These are unprecedented times and I would urge everyone to closely follow the advice being given by the Government, since this is regularly changing as times goes on, and also by Public Health England.”
