Resources available to care for Police Officers and their families

A series of vital resources aimed at helping police officers and their families have been highlighted by the Vice-Chair of Avon and Somerset Police Federation.
Iain Prideaux said Oscar Kilo’s support tools are “excellent”.
His words come after the National Police Wellbeing Service revealed three-quarters of family members feel concerned about their loved ones’ career in policing.
Officers have now been encouraged to take full advantage of help on offer from Oscar Kilo.
Iain said: “The National Police Wellbeing Service has published what we have all known for many years.
“It has highlighted the worries that our family and friends carry towards our health and wellbeing.
“The repeated exposure to high levels of threat, harm and risk, coupled with the deep levels of public scrutiny associated with split-second decisions is having a huge impact on our mental health and that of our loved ones.”
Iain stressed officers take advantage of the “excellent resources” made available by Oscar Kilo.
He added: “You do not have to be an investigator to benefit. Please make use of all these excellent resources.”
