Injured Officer

29 January 2019

At 1.34am today an officer in a marked police vehicle was involved in a vehicle road traffic collision.

The officer was trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed by the Fire and Rescue Service. An air ambulance was also in attendance and the officer was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Our thoughts are with our officer and his family and we’re supporting them and our colleagues through this difficult time.

Two police dogs, who were also in the vehicle at the time of the collision, were also taken straight to a veterinary hospital. They were checked and found not to have suffered any injuries.
