Chair responds to appointment of new Home Secretary

Chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales responds to appointment of Home Secretary Sajid Javid.

In a statement Mr Macleod said, “We welcome the government’s swift replacement of the Home Secretary and we hope that Sajid Javid will be able to get up to speed quickly with the challenges that the police service is currently facing.

“The issues our members and the public are facing are very real and need to be addressed as a matter of urgency.

“Now, more than ever, it is paramount that we have some stability going forward, and I hope we can continue to have an open dialogue to voice the concerns on the issues that are affecting our members in order to ensure that there is proper investment in the resources and equipment required to effectively keep our communities safe.”
