Spring edition of Fed magazine out now

26 April 2026

The Spring 2026 edition of Connect, the magazine of West Mercia Police Federation, is packed with news, updates and powerful stories and it’s out now.

Read the story of PC Ryan Davies, a deeply personal account of his recovery following a serious assault on duty.

It highlights the physical and psychological impact violence can have on officers and reinforces the Federation’s commitment to standing beside members when they need support most.

The sister of West Mercia officer Dane Roleston-Lowe backs the Federation’s campaign for the mandatory recording of police suicides and attempted suicides.

Nena Hodges, who is set to take on a skydive in support of men’s mental health initiatives, has given her ‘100 per cent support’ to the campaign.

Suicide

Read about the incredible fundraising efforts of PC Sian Stockton, who has raised £15,000 for men’s health charity Movember after losing her older brother to suicide.

The magazine includes important updates, on the Federation’s continued work campaigning for fair pay.

There is a farewell to branch secretary Lesley Williams, whose retirement follows years of outstanding service to policing and the Federation.

And we introduce interim branch secretary Stu Bott.

Hear about plans for Worcester Police Cricket Club to take part in next year’s World Police and Fire Games in Australia – an event which attracts more competitors than the Commonwealth Games.

Elsewhere, we shine the spotlight on an innovative virtual ride-along initiatives, which gives the public unprecedented access to frontline policing through body-worn video footage streamed in real time.
