The annual Police Unity Tour is a ‘fantastic event in aid of a fantastic cause’, says the chair of West Mercia Police Foundation.
Steve Butler has taken part in the tour on a number of occasions in memory of fallen officers and in support of the Care of Police Survivors (COPS) charity.
And he says it's a moving event that highlights the togetherness of the Police Family.
“I’ve done the Police Unity Tour a few times,” he said. “It’s a fantastic event in aid of a fantastic cause.

Branch chair Steve Butler (centre) speaks of 'fantastic' Police Unity Tour event.
“Each time you can’t help being moved by the event, what it stands for, and the achievements of everyone taking part.
“There is a lot of camaraderie and togetherness knowing that you’re helping the families of fallen colleagues.
“It brings home the sacrifices that police officers make, particularly when you arrive at the National Memorial Arboretum, and makes you think about the officers we’re riding in honour of.
“COPS is such a great charity, and it provides fantastic support to the families of fallen officers.”
Registration is now open for the West Midlands Chapter, which includes cyclists from West Mercia, West Midlands, Staffordshire and Warwickshire police forces.
Entrants can register online paying a non-refundable registration fee of £180 to offset the costs of two nights’ accommodation and a Police Unity Tour cycling jersey.
Cyclists set off from their home forces on Friday 1 August and head to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire for the annual COPS Service of Remembrance on Sunday 3 August.
Everyone taking part will wear a wristband engraved with the name of a fallen officer and, where possible, at the end of the ride, will present it to the family of that officer.
