West Mercia Police Federation

Christmas greetings from West Mercia Police Federation

19 December 2025

As we approach the end of another demanding year, we want to begin by thanking every one of our members for the commitment, resilience and professionalism you show day in, day out in a role that is truly like no other.

The past 12 months have brought both challenge and reward for West Mercia Police Federation. 2025 has also marked an important period of change for the branch, including a new leadership team taking shape following this year’s elections.

We are grateful for the support shown by members and encouraged by the dedication of the new officials and representatives who have stepped forward. Together, we form a strong and committed team as we look ahead to our first full year working side by side in 2026.

What will never change is your Federation’s dedication to ensuring your dedication and achievements never go unnoticed.

Successes

That is why this year we have proudly celebrated our members’ successes, including the outstanding achievements of PC Stacey Hegenbarth and Sergeant Kully Singh, who secured a regional win at the National Police Bravery Awards.

Their actions during a highly dangerous incident on the M5 exemplify the courage, professionalism and selflessness shown by officers across West Mercia every day.

We have also continued to champion improvements to pay, conditions and wellbeing through the Police Federation of England and Wales’ (PFEW) Copped Enough campaign, which has gained real momentum nationally and remains a key priority locally.

As we enter the festive season, we want to wish all our members a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year. Christmas is rarely perfect for anyone, and policing often means it looks different for us - but it is about making our own traditions, supporting one another and taking pride in the vital role we play.

Keep safe.
