West Mercia Police Federation

Reminder to take part in industrial rights poll

12 June 2024

Members are being reminded to check their emails for the link to the recent poll on industrial rights sent out by the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW).
The email will have been sent to your preferred email address and is entitled ‘PFEW Industrial Rights Poll’. It is sent from elections@mi-voice.com - an independent and secure balloting provider.
Members are urged to check their spam or junk folders for the email.
The poll seeks to find out if members would like the Federation to pursue the re-establishment of a mechanism of collective bargaining and the addition of binding arbitration. This will enable direct negotiation with the Government when it comes to determining police pay.
The poll was launched last week (Monday 3 June) and will close at 21.59 on Friday 21 June.
“It is vital that all members make the most of this opportunity and take part in this poll,” said chair of West Mercia Police Federation Steve Butler. “Results from the poll will ensure the Federation is acting on behalf of its membership.”
There is no threshold set for the percentage of members who need to participate in the poll. The decision will be made on a simple majority vote.
Steve added: “Remember, the poll closes on Friday 23 June, so please check your emails at the earliest opportunity to make sure you have received the link.”
Along with the poll link, members should have received an FAQ document. If you have not received the poll link or the FAQ document, please contact the Federation office as soon as possible.
Please do not share your link as they are all unique and will not allow multiple votes using the same link.
If you have not received the link please contact the Federation as soon as possible.
