West Mercia Police Federation chair Steve Butler has thanked members who have been on the frontline policing the violent disorder.
Officers from the Force have been deployed on mutual aid to work alongside colleagues in other forces.
Steve said: “On behalf of West Mercia Police Federation, I want to thank all of our members who have gone above and beyond the line of duty to keep our communities safe in these difficult and unprecedented times.
“They have been on the frontline working long hours to deal with the violent disorder, putting themselves in harm’s way to protect the public and each other.
“These mindless thugs do not speak for us and our communities, and our members are doing everything they can to protect and serve.
“The bravery, dedication, and professionalism of officers is outstanding and we thank you all.”
Steve said a huge amount of work was also being done to support the officers on the frontline.
And he warned that policing the violence would take officers away from their core roles.
He said: “It’s having an impact on everyone.
“While day-to-day policing has not stopped, some officers are being taken away from their duties to man the frontlines, to protect the public, and to investigate the disorder.
“We have teams of investigators gathering evidence, examining footage, reviewing online and social media posts, processing prisoners, and bringing cases against those who are committing violence against our society.
“There is a huge amount to be done and I thank them for their hard work.”
