Federation pays tribute to PC John Bonelle

West Mercia Police Federation today remembers PC John Bonelle who died in in a road traffic accident while taking part in an advanced motorcycle training course on this day 33 years ago.

John was 34 when he died in the accident in Merthyr Tydfil on 6 May 1991.

“John’s life was tragically cut short in this incident. It is important that we remember him and his service to the Force and the communities we serve,” says Steve Butler, chair of West Mercia Police Federation.

“But it is also important that we remember the family, friends and colleagues he left behind as they continue to feel his loss. They remain in our thoughts today in particular.”
