Branch chair ‘surprised’ by PFEW recent decision

Steve Butler says he was ‘surprised’ to hear that Rich Cooke has been sent a letter from the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) advising he is suspended from his duties as chair.

The chair of West Mercia Police Federation said: “I hope Rich is being supported throughout this process and the appropriate measures have been put in place for him. I feel that Rich is well-liked and respected by branch colleagues and the members who elected him. And I believe he carries out his role as chair with great passion.

“For the sake of all Federation members - especially those in our neighbouring branch, West Midlands - I hope this gets resolved quickly.”
