Are you due a tax refund?

Members of West Mercia Police Federation are being urged to have their tax code checked to see if they have paid too much tax.
This could be because members are using the wrong tax code.
Experts at The Tax Refund Company are ready to support members to find out if they are eligible for a refund.
Over 13,000 Officers in England and Wales have used this service in the past year, with more than 10,800 finding out their tax codes were wrong and getting tax refunds as a result. The average refund members receive is £198.15.
Members should not assume HMRC will automatically send you a refund if they have overpaid tax. It is up to each member to check if they have paid too much tax and claim it back if they have - or better, get a tax expert to do the work for them.
Tax Refund
If members would like to receive a professional tax review through The Tax Refund Company, things they should note are:

If they get a refund, there is a fee of 35p+vat for each £1 you get back (minimum fee £35+vat*)

There will be nothing to pay for the money they get back for a current tax year where they get a new tax code or for any money to save by paying less tax in future months and years

Peace of mind guaranteed. In the rare event they get an unexpected tax bill as a direct result of using this service, it will be paid for them**

*You only pay a fee if you get a refund. If your refund is under £42, the minimum fee will be reduced to the same value as your refund, so you have nothing more to pay.
