Read how the remarkable courage of West Mercia Police Federation member Chris Rogers earned him a nomination for a national award in the branch’s magazine Connect.

Chris swam out to rescue a man who had fallen 30ft from a bridge into a river and is now up for a Police Federation Bravery Award.

We also meet West Mercia Police Federation member Owen Beynon Brown who had an important role at the coronation of King Charles III.

Branch chair Barry Horton and secretary Pete Nightingale welcome an increase in starting salaries for new recruits and pledge to continue fighting for improved pay and conditions for all serving officers.

There’s a focus on the work of Operation Hampshire in preventing and tackling assaults on police officers and an update on the new Police Covenant.
