Remembering PC Ashley Burchell

West Mercia Police Federation has paid tribute to an officer who died in service while training his police dog on this day 38 years ago.

PC Ashley Burchell was 38 when he collapsed and died on 11 May 1985.

Branch chair Barry Horton said: “We remember Ashley and on the anniversary of his death as we do all our fallen colleagues.

“Our thoughts are with Ashley’s family, friends and former colleagues.”
