Federation remembers Sergeant Ian Jones

West Mercia Police Federation has paid tribute to fallen colleague Sergeant Ian Jones on the anniversary of his death.

Ian collapsed and died from heart failure while on duty at West Mercia Police Headquarters in Worcester on 2 March 2011. He was 53

Pete Nightingale, secretary of West Mercia Police Federation, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Ian’s family, friends and colleagues today.

“The police family is a close-knit one and I know that he is remembered fondly by all who knew him.

“The death of an officer in service always has a massive impact on the Force and it is important that we continue to remember our fallen colleagues.”
