West Mercia Police Federation

Autumn edition of Connect magazine out now

26 October 2023

The latest edition of Connect, the magazine of the West Mercia Police Federation, is out now and available to read online.

There are tributes to PC Andy Boardman and colleagues across the country who have died in the line of duty with a feature on this year's National Police Memorial Day.

Catch up with all the news and views from the annual Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) conference, including the thoughts of branch chair Barry Horton on this year's event.

There are features on the keynote addresses by national Federation chair Steve Hartshorn and Home Secretary Suella Braverman, as well as speeches by national Federation secretary Calum Macleod, chief executive Mukund Krishna and treasurer Simon Kempton.

We shine the light on issues affecting members including pay and conditions, the Federation’s #SimplifyDG6 campaign and retirement.

Read how officers are choosing to be assaulted rather than use force for fear of falling foul of the disciplinary process, and how non-disclosure agreements are being used by forces to silence victims of sexism and misogyny.

There are also features on the conference debates about mutual aid and away from home allowances, leadership in policing, and health and wellbeing.

It is all in the October edition of Connect, which is available online now
