West Mercia Police Federation

Remembering PC Paul Symonds

17 April 2022

West Mercia Police Federation chair Sarah Cooper has remembered PC Paul Symonds on the 31st anniversary of his death.

Paul, who was 32, was killed when the traffic car in which he was an observer crashed while on patrol on 17 April 1991.

Sarah said: “Police officers respond to calls and go out on patrol every day and put themselves in harm’s way to serve and protect the public – and all too often they pay the ultimate sacrifice.

“The thoughts of everyone at West Mercia Police Federation are with Paul’s family, friends and former colleagues today as we remember his life and service.

“We will continue to remember him, as we do all our fallen colleagues. They can never be forgotten.”
