Pay and morale survey closing soon

There are still 10 days remaining for West Mercia Police Federation members to complete this year’s pay and morale survey.

This year it’s been combined with the demand, capacity and welfare survey as the Federation aims to build a comprehensive picture of the issues facing officers on pay, morale and wellbeing.

Branch chair Sarah Cooper said the results will support the Federation’s campaigning work for fairer pay and conditions for members.

Sarah said: “I would urge all members to take the time to have their say in this survey. Based on my interaction with officers, it is clear that morale is currently at an all-time low, colleagues are choosing to resign rather than stay and continue to work in an environment where they feel undervalued and the toll on the mental health of many is just intolerable.

“I understand the reluctance to engage with endless surveys but I am committed to ensuring that the results are used constructively so that your voice is heard and to inform decisions and strategy both locally and nationally.”
