Remembering PC David Hopkins

West Mercia Police Federation chair Sarah Cooper has paid tribute to PC David Hopkins on the anniversary of his death.

David, a Force motorcycle outrider, was escorting a national cycle race when he was fatally injured in a collision with a car near Malvern on 28 May 1998. He was 41.

Sarah said: “It’s important for us to remember fallen colleagues and the thoughts of everyone at West Mercia Police Federation are with David’s family, friends and colleagues.

“David made the ultimate sacrifice in serving the communities of West Mercia. His service to the public and his dedication to policing should never be forgotten.”
