The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has made it more important than ever to talk about debt, says West Mercia Police Federation chair Sarah Cooper.
Sarah is encouraging members to seek support for money issues during Debt Awareness Week, which started on Monday (22 March).
Sarah said: “Debt Awareness Week is the perfect opportunity to talk about our money issues. The pandemic has had a huge impact on so many areas of our lives, particularly the economy and our personal finances.
“Talking about our money can help us make better financial decisions; can make us feel less stressed about money and more in control.
“And if you are struggling with debt, it’s important to talk about your situation before it gets worse.”
Police Mutual, which provides financial services and welfare support to the police service, has produced a free guide for members for Debt Awareness Week.
It offers free tips to improve your financial wellbeing and information on where you can get support to help you tackle debt.
