Update by Kevin Bishop – 19th October 2020

Currently we are open for patients under Covid-19 secure Conditions which are impacting patient numbers and the treatments we can offer.

Due to the fluidity of changes in lockdowns and the 3- tier system to combat any rise in Corona Virus cases I recommend that you and your members consult our web site for regular updates as locations and tier level status’s change.

We are treating patients who can attend the centre and by video teleconsultation if they are not able to currently attend.

Today we are so proud to announce our “Jewel in the Crown” at Flint House.

After months of hard work and highly sophisticated planning and superb craftsmanship the new swimming and hydrotherapy pools are now officially open. This marks another highpoint in our delivery of gold standard treatment for sick and injured police officers”.” A brand new significantly larger hydrotherapy pool with resistance jets, a beautifully constructed and finished new swimming/exercise pool and totally new changing rooms all came together today.

Coupled to the new Gymnasium opened last year by Dame Kelly Holmes DBE, our rehabilitation facilities and level of treatment must stand against the best in the country in any rehab establishment.

The quality of everything we deliver, whether it is rehabilitation, mental health, accommodation, food, or the picturesque surroundings, is totally dedicated to those who protect and keep us safe. Everything we deliver is a constant source of immense pride to all the staff and particularly in this case all those involved over the last two years with both the pool and gym projects. That frontline police officers can access Flint House, and let’s not forget that includes PCSO’s, MoD, NCA, BTP and DDO’s, all of whom are out there doing a difficult job and in currently a very difficult time for the UK, for the princely sum of just £1.70 per week donation has to be the most amazing value proposition when it comes to looking after the number one priority………..your own health and wellbeing!

Kevin Bishop, Communications manager expresses his heartfelt concern “It concerns me that over 14 years I have meet so many officers as I get around Police Stations in our constituent forces, plus conferences, training days, Health & wellbeing events and open days, that do not donate to the Centre, and are suffering from old and/or new injuries, and those struggling with Mental health problems, sometimes both at the same time. Many out there believe we are only treating officers if they are injured on duty, but categorically ‘it doesn’t matter if hurt on or off duty, you may attend Flint House’

“To have an officer standing in front of me who may be swallowing painkillers at Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner not even thinking they could come here FOC really breaks my heart ”. “Seeing an officer in this position who does become a donor and come for treatment is so satisfying, it lifts my working week way beyond any day to day job satisfaction levels”

“One cup of Costa latte coffee a week is £9.40 a month, Flint House is £7.37. That’s all we ask to “Help us Help you” when you are in need of care and rehabilitation”

“If it’s not about you or for you, perhaps spare a thought maybe for your mate or colleague who could do with some help”
