Suffolk Police Federation

PC ‘honoured’ to be in the company of fellow Bravery Awards nominees

10 July 2025

PC Eva Palmer says she feels ‘honoured’ to spend the day with fellow Police Bravery Awards nominees.

Eva represented Suffolk Police Federation at the annual awards, which is being held in London tonight (Thursday 10 July).

She joined nominees from across England and Wales at a grand reception held at the Foreign Office.

The reception was attended by Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, and Eva used the occasion to speak to fellow nominees and to hear their stories.

And the humble officer joked she felt ‘a bit of an imposter’.

“It feels a big honour that I get to spend the day with them,” she said.

“After hearing so many incredible stories and all the hard work that they’ve done, I do feel like a bit of an imposter, to be surrounded by loads of amazing officers.”

Eva was nominated for tackling a knife-wielding offender at a free family music event in Ipswich on 13 July last year.

Student officer

A student officer, she had been with Suffolk Police for 11 months and independent for just two-and-a-half months when the incident happened.

Eva was accompanied by her mum, Alison.

She said: “It’s really nice she can share it with me.

“I didn’t realise we would get the opportunity today to see Downing Street.

“It’s great that we have lots of nice photos to remember the day by.”
