A 21-year-old Suffolk officer who was killed by a passing vehicle as he went to rescue a dog involved in a road accident is today remembered.
PC Alexander Negus died on 27 December 1983.
“Alexander’s death was particularly tragic given that he was trying to do a good deed but also because he was so young,” says Darren Harris, chair of Suffolk Police Federation.
“Our thoughts today are with the family, friends and colleagues he left behind as we remember Alexander’s service to the Force and to the people of Suffolk.”
