Fallen officer remembered

Suffolk PC Robert Marshall died on this day 40 years ago.

Forty-six-year-old Robert was fatally injured while on motorcycle patrol on 4 March 1985.

Darren Harris, chair of Suffolk Police Federation, said: “We feel it is incredibly important that we remember our colleagues who sadly lost their lives while serving their communities, those officers who left their homes and their families to go to work but never returned.

“It is now 40 years since Robert died but his loss will still be felt by his family, his friends and his colleagues. Our thoughts are with them all today.”
