Suffolk PC Peter Evans died on this day in 2001.
Peter, who was 33, died in a road accident while travelling back to base at the end of a shift in the early hours of 24 February 2001. He was travelling in an armed response vehicle near Bury St Edmunds when it left the road, overturned and hit an electricity pole.
Darren Harris, chair of Suffolk Police Federation, said: “The loss of a colleague is always felt across the Force and it is important that as the years go by we continue to pay our respects to fallen officers while also keeping their families, friends and those who worked with them in our thoughts. Today we remember Peter and the service he gave to the communities of Suffolk while serving with the Force.”
