Officers have been deployed on mutual aid to work alongside colleagues in other forces, while uniform officers and CID have been moved to 12-hour shifts.
Vice chair of Suffolk Police Federation Matt Paisley said: “Suffolk Police Federation sends a thank-you to all of our members who are going above and beyond the call of duty to keep people safe in these difficult and unprecedented times.”
Matt said that in addition to officers being deployed to support colleagues across the country, many others are working overtime to ensure that day-to-day policing can continue.
“I think it’s easy to forget at times like this that policing doesn’t stop. As well as reacting to the threat of planned protests, teams are pulling together to keep all operations going,” added Matt.
“It’s times like this that we see the very best of British policing and the Federation really appreciates the sacrifices our members, as well as their families, are making.
“They have been working incredibly hard over long hours, and their dedication and professionalism is outstanding.
“We thank you all.”
