Suffolk Police Federation chair Darren Harris has led tributes to a 27-year-old Suffolk officer who died 41 years ago today.
PC Alexander Negus, who was only 21, was killed by a passing vehicle as he went to rescue a dog in a road accident.
“It is particularly tragic that Alexander was so young when he lost his life in this way,” says Darren, “Our thoughts today are with his family and friends and we also remember his service to the public we serve and his dedication to his duties.”
