Federation remembers detective

Suffolk Police Federation secretary Ben Hudson has paid tribute to DC Clive Barratt on the 25^th anniversary of his death.

DC Barratt, who was 35, died in a motorcycle accident while on surveillance duty on 28 July 1999.

Ben said: “Our thoughts today are with Clive’s family, friends and colleagues as they mark this anniversary.

“We also remember Clive and the service he gave to Suffolk Constabulary and the communities we all serve.

“Through the very nature of policing, we do sadly lose officers who pay the ultimate price when carrying out their duties but it is important that we remember them and show their loved ones that we never forget their sacrifice.”
