Second day of Federation conference gets underway

Many of the biggest issues facing police officers will come under the microscope today on Day 2 of the Police Federation of England and Wales annual national conference.

The morning session starts with discussions on Trial by Media and Use of Force – Objective or Subjective, and continues with Investing in Investigators and Understanding Misogyny in Policing.

Recruitment During the Pandemic; Policing With Privilege?, Policing Protests and the Challenge of Difference are among the topics being discussed in the afternoon session as well as New Regs – New Culture?, Wellbeing - Whose Responsibility Is It?, Driving Change and an update on the Federation elections.

Suffolk Police Federation chair Darren Harris said: “Our conference is a really important event which allows us to celebrate the best of policing and to examine the issues that matter to our members.

“We had an interesting opening day with lots of debate around the theme of the conference, Policing Under Pressure.

“Today promises to be another lively day as we continue to focus on the issues facing our members and our work to address them.”
