Suffolk Police Federation chair Darren Harris has paid tribute to a Suffolk PC who died on this day 16 years ago.
PC Cheryl Lloyd (42) died on 18 June 2005 when the patrol car she was driving was in collision with a lorry while she was attending an urgent call in Ipswich.
“Our thoughts are with Cheryl’s family, friends and colleagues today,” says Darren, “Policing can be a dangerous job and all too often we lose colleagues who put their own safety on the line to protect their communities. They will never be forgotten.”
