Suffolk Police Federation is today paying tribute to PC Alexander Negus.
Alexander was killed by a passing vehicle as he tried to rescue a dog in a road accident on 27 December 1983. He was just 21.
Darren Harris, chair of Suffolk Police Federation, said: “The loss of any officer is tragic but for Alexander to lose his life as he did, trying to do a good deed, is truly heart-breaking. Our thoughts are with his family and friends today on what is a very sad anniversary.”
