Suffolk Police Federation chair Darren Harris has paid tribute to Detective Constable Clive Barratt on the 22nd anniversary of his death.
DC Barratt (35) died in a motorcycle accident while on surveillance duty on 28 July 1999.
Darren said: “Clive Barratt lost his life in tragic circumstances while out on duty 22 years ago today. His death was a huge loss to all who knew him and he remains sorely missed to this day.
“The thoughts of everyone at Suffolk Police Federation are with Clive’s family, friends and former colleagues on the anniversary of his death.”
Today DC Barratt’s family will join Darren and guests including civic dignitaries, senior politicians, representatives from all police forces across the country, policing charities and the families and friends of officers killed on duty at the unveiling of the new UK Police Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, Staffordshire.
