Men’s Health Webinar To Discuss Why It’s Good To Talk

2 November 2023

Registration is now open for a men’s health webinar, being hosted by the PFEW.

The online event takes place on Thursday 16 November from 10am to 12.30pm.

It will cover topics including the importance of having a safe space to talk, addiction and changing attitudes to mental health.

The webinar will be hosted by National Board member Zac Mader, and will hear from a number of speakers.

Ch Insp Stewart Codling, from Thames Valley Police, runs a men’s network in the force and will be focusing on mental health and promoting a safe space where men can open up, with a "kettle always on" ethos.

Nick Conn, from Help4Addiction, will talk of his own experience as a serving cop with an addiction and how he now helps people with all kinds of addictions.

Chief Medical Officer John Harrison will talk about how he can influence the attitude towards men's health from a national perspective.

National Board member Belinda Goodwin will focus on changing attitudes, and how important language and behaviour has a massive part to play; including how female colleagues can help men feel empowered to open up about their mental health.

Oswin Croft, from Movember, will discuss how and men's health is important all year round.

And Mark Jones, Secretary of North Wales Police Federation, and Matt Slade, Equality Lead of Essex Police Federation, will facilitate a Q&A on all sessions.
