The Government needs to listen to the public, the Police Federation and chief constables and re-invest in policing, Leicestershire Police Federation chair Tiff Lynch has told BBC Radio Leicester in a live interview this morning.
Tiff talked about the challenges facing the Force when speaking to Ady Dayman on the Breakfast Show.
“Violent crime stats are through the roof but grass roots crime is still happening and that is where investment needs to be,” she explained.
“Our communities are behind our police officers. But when the public is not getting the service that they, or we, think they deserve, their faith in our ability is going to lessen.
“We need to be able to answer those 999 calls, investigate their incidents and get a result for them. It's not just about chasing crime, it's about preventing crime to stop it happening.”
